“Not Enough Space for Update”

Have You ever experienced this with your gadgets?

It might be your smartphones, iPads, or computers.

What happened if you didn’t update it as soon as possible?

You might notice some lags, bugs or even crash when using your gadgets. It happened because the apps or programs you are using aren’t compatible enough with your current operating systems. Your operating system and the current installed apps are too old to process the new things. If you keep postponing the updates, at some point even you won’t be able to run your favorite apps anymore. Or if you are a w*nd*ws user, wait until it force you to update it at the most crucial time like just before your important project presentation, after that you will always remember the important of not postponing your OS updates or you might swear to never ever use that OS. Also, if your gadgets for some reason cannot receive updates anymore, that is the time you buy the new one.

It is the same with human. Each person has their own belief systems and values that work as the operating system and programs and those things also need to be updated regularly.

For examples:

When we were kids, maybe our parents taught us “don’t talk to strangers.” But once we are grown up, especially when we need to work, we NEED and WILL talk to A LOT of strangers.

In this example, if we didn’t update our old program, we will always feel reluctant to talk to new people. Why? Because subconsciously, we still believe that they are strangers, and our parents said don’t talk to them, they might want to harm us, kidnap us, or any other bad things. In short “strangers = dangerous”.

At that time when we were kids, yes, we were being taught that some strangers could do bad things to a little kid, but that program (belief) actually were not a perfect programs. No programs is perfect when it is installed, it will always need to be updated.

  1. Not all strangers are bad strangers that have bad intention. Me and all the people around me know for sure that I won’t do bad thing to kids whether they know me or not. And I believe a lot of you are the same.

  2. We as the little kids were being taught that way because AT THAT TIME, we were at least lack of knowledge, power, wisdom, and experience. So, the question is, “Are we as an adult right now also lacking all those things? “

Those two things show us, the "don't talk to stranger" belief is not relevant anymore. We need to update it with new belief. The bad news is, if we never ever updates our own belief system, similar to those old phone we aren't using anymore, we are going to be left behind by those who are constantly updating themselves. Good news is human never ever have a “not enough space” experience like our gadgets, we are able to keep updating ourselves. It is a matter of whether we allow it or not.

This simple example might help you get some insight related to your experience. And this one particular "don't talk to strangers" was actually the source of many other social human relation problems.

First aid question:

“When is the last time you update your belief systems?”
